What this QR code generator does

The generator converts entered information into a two-dimensional barcode. The selected content type controls the structure of the encoded payload, allowing a scanner to recognize whether it should open a website, display text, save a contact, compose a message, join Wi-Fi or prepare a phone call.

The result is a static QR code. Its destination cannot be changed after printing unless the encoded content points to a redirect URL that you control.

How to create a QR code

1. Choose the required content type.
2. Complete the fields that should be encoded.
3. Select an error-correction level.
4. Choose the PNG size and quiet zone.
5. Keep strong contrast between the code and background.
6. Generate and inspect the preview.
7. Download PNG or SVG.
8. Test the downloaded code before publishing it.

Choosing the correct payload type

Use Website for a web address and Text when the scanner should only display information. Contact creates a structured vCard that compatible phones can save directly. Email and SMS open composition screens with recipient and message information prepared.

Wi-Fi creates network credentials for compatible devices. WhatsApp prepares a conversation through a wa.me link, while Phone Call opens the dialler with the selected number.

Error correction levels L, M, Q and H

QR codes contain recovery information that helps scanners decode a partially damaged symbol. Level L provides roughly 7% recovery, M about 15%, Q about 25% and H about 30%.

Higher correction is useful for packaging, labels and surfaces that may be scratched, but it also makes the code denser. M is a practical default for clean digital use and normal printing.

Quiet zone, contrast and print size

A QR code requires an empty border called the quiet zone. Keep at least four modules of clear space around all four sides and never crop this margin in a design application.

Dark modules on a light background provide the widest scanner compatibility. A simple code should generally be printed at least about 2.5 cm square, while dense codes need more space.

Why more content creates a denser QR code

Every character must be represented inside the QR grid. A short web address produces a simpler symbol than a full contact card containing names, phone numbers, company information, an address and a website.

If the code becomes difficult to scan at the required physical size, shorten the payload, use fewer optional contact fields or encode a shorter redirect URL.

PNG or SVG: which should you download?

PNG is convenient for websites, social posts, office documents and applications that expect a raster image. Choose a large output size when the image may be resized later.

SVG is resolution-independent and is usually the better choice for professional print layouts, signs, packaging and large-format designs. Preserve its proportions and quiet zone when placing it.

Privacy and static QR codes

The entered content is converted into a QR code by JavaScript in your browser. This generator does not submit the payload to a CyberTools processing endpoint or keep a history of generated codes.

Static QR codes do not provide scan analytics. Tracking requires a hosted redirect URL that records visits before forwarding scanners to the final destination.
